Princess has taught herself a new skill. After a day or two of having lots of little boys at our house to play the gate at the top of the stairs needed adjusting. I took off the gate, worried that the next little person to touch the gate would actually fall down the stairs, gate and all. This of course roused the curiosity of Princess who is always checking things out. Princess has been climbing stairs since she was 9 months old but had never been taught how to go down them. Mom watched to see what Princess would do with the stairs open.
Princess picked up a toy and threw it down the stairs (something she liked to do when the gate was up). Then she sat down, turned around, and went down the stairs to retreive the item.
She repeated these steps over and over. Now, the stairs are her new favorite place to play.
What fun!?!
*Luckily, she has only fallen down once. Little Brother happened to be on the stairs at the same time so we aren't sure what happened...although he did run away before Princess hit the bottom step.
